Car detailing tips
washing
It is a great feeling to drive a clean car. Our vehicles reflect our personality.
Washing your car can be both relaxing and beneficial. Do we do more harm by washing our cars? Many car owners spend countless hours cleaning their vehicle over the years.
Washing incorrectly is more common. It could be that the incorrect materials are being used when washing the car, resulting in swirly paint. The swirls not only look awful, but also lower the overall value.
Start with the proper tools. You will need a pipe, 2 buckets, soft sponges and car wash mitts, as well as some washing liquid, and at least 1 large microfiber towel to dry the car. For car cleaning, microfiber mitts as well as natural sea sponges work great.
Do not use any hand soap to wash your car. This includes dishwashing fluid, glass cleaner, or other products. Use a proper car washing detergent, or you can choose carwash products that are specifically designed so as to not scratch the paint of your vehicle.
Do not wash your vehicle in full sunlight. Instead, use shaded areas or overcast days.
Be sure that it isn’t too hot when you choose to wash your automobile. It tends, when you wash a hot car, to dry up too quickly. This will result in more spots appearing on windows or car bodies. Make sure that you rinse off your vehicle completely before starting to wash it. It will also remove all loose debris or dirt from the surface, which could otherwise scratch your car.
If you are cleaning your car be sure to pay particular attention when it comes to tree sap, bird droppings and dead insects.
Two buckets are always better than just one.
Use two buckets. One for the clean water, and one for the dirty sponge. This is a huge mistake. Rinsing a dirty sponge out in a clean suds bucket can be the biggest error. This will not remove the dirt from the car, it just spreads the same grime and filth around. You can use a bucket of sudsy, clean water to wash the sponge. Then rinse it thoroughly with clean water.
After the sponge has been thoroughly rinsed in soapy water, continue cleaning. Wash the sponge and the car frequently. To avoid damaging the paint, use gentle horizontal strokes, rather than circular, brisk movements.
You should never use the same sponge on the tires and wheels as you would for the car’s body.
Was the car section by section, going from top to the bottom, in this order: First, wash off the roof, as it appears on top. Next, clean the window support and windows. Last but not least, you should tackle your wheels and tires.
Use a pipe with no nozzle to gently wash the car. The result is fewer water spots. When water evaporates it leaves behind a faint deposit of minerals. This is why drying your vehicle properly is equally important to washing.
Cleaning
The difference between washing your clothes and cleaning them is significant. This stage involves a more conscious removal of contaminants. The majority of professional detailing companies offer this, and goes well beyond simple washing. In this step, stubborn stains and blemishes are removed. Clay is commonly used to clean the surface. It adheres to any debris. Then, a gentle spray removes it all.
For a scratch-free dry, use a large Microfiber towel. If you want to get rid of most the moisture in your paint immediately, a silicone “paint-safe” squeegee would work well. Microfiber towel are absorbent and dry much faster than chamois towels or terry towels. After the wax has dried, you can use a spray wax product to restore the shine.
Polishing
Polishing produces an incredibly beautiful sheen. The majority of brands sell two different types. It is up to you which of the two you choose for your car. It helps repair light, fine and minor defects. This polish also produces a high-gloss shine and an extra-smooth surface. The polish is great for vehicles that have imperfections or are second-hand or used. Another polish, pure polish, is ideal for vehicles with vibrant and radiant finishes. It can produce a glossy finish.
